I can’t say it with full confident, but I believe I am good at writing a personal story. Describing myself, the events and tragedy I have been through because those are personal experiences. Personal writing is basically writing from your memories, which is easier because you already have most of the information to achieve the best part of your writing. Your the one that knows yourself better than anyone else, so it’s not hard to recover memories.
Something i am novice at is researching and writing primary and informative papers. I do a decent of finding the relate able evidences for my paper, but I am not very good at summarizing the text. You can learn something through practice. The knowledge from a different field could probably help you in certain ways or help you build up more.
Being an expert on something takes heavy knowledge and you can’t become an expert from being novice in a short period of time. I would say, it’s really hard for an expert to teach the novices because an expert know too much and it’s hard for them to synthesize everything they know and teach the novices.

This passage is within first paragraph on page 130. Also has a sub topic before the part starts ” Student’s perceptions about English”. I think this will be helpful for me for the fourth major assignment because I have always been better at personal writing than being expressive about something i have to gather information about and have to do in depth research on. But, this assignment is about research and being expressive, the passage will help me not to be one of them who saw writing in English class as personal and express myself as someone else who is capable of going in depth about a different topic and not feel it being personal.
I think it’s easier to connect to personal writing than factual writing because personal writing is relate able and it ‘s also motivational because it’s also something you want to talk about to others and get reactions from others or you want your voice to be heard by others about your writing.
I will be using the passage to show how I can successfully transfer myself from being the personal writer to being an expressive writing in a different genres. I want to show myself and the audience that factual writing and research paper isn’t as hard as i tend to believe. Personal writing isn’t the only writing I should be able to connect to because factual/research paper can also have some elements and facts to the paper, which could relate to you in many ways.
I have choose a passage that talks about different type of writing than what an assignment is asking for. So, I would have to work against the passage rather than working on the passage because I have choose the passage to stop myself from keep on following the same style of writing. I have choose the passage as a reminder to not be the same type of a writer again.
I do kinda share the same perception because after first-year-writing we don’t really find that useful to our daily lives. It’s not being used in our everyday lives. I think it would be better and more useful to those are are more into politics, writer and into some kind of speech department. At the same time, technology is advancing so quick that I don’t think it should be relevant for colleges to have to enforce student to learn. If someone has so much of interest in professional level of writing than that person will find a way to improve his skills. If not, it shouldn’t be a big deal because that specific skill isn’t used in our everyday activities neither fits into everyone’s everyday lives.
I do have some writing knowledge which will be helpful for this course, but I do have much to learn. I have written some different types of papers and done some basic research, but not in depth like we’re doing in this course. I am learning so much about in depth research and more in the class and I believe it will help me become better writer.
Some of the writing knowledge I could carry forward from this class are; research, being clear and specific about the topic, how we can use different genres and combine them together to make the writing more engaging for the audiences and how we can use different platform to share same information in a easier and a more shuttle way. For example; just like how we researched and gathered information on major assignment 2 and now we’re using different genres to share those information, so the audiences doesn’t have to sit though long reading and get bored. We could use different ways to share the information in a better and more entertaining ways.
