Before reading Bazerman.
- Genre is categories of different style of artistic work in different platforms.
- The past experience contributes in many ways such as, having to write different types of essays in college. For instance; persuasive, informative and etc. Another experience is that, having to give speech in a class using different genre about different things.
- Very important factor when it comes to writing because I think the amount of audiences that will look at your piece of work is dependent on what of genre you choose to work on.
- Not everyone has the same taste of genre to read, listen to or watch.
After reading Bazerman.
- In this case, genre is describes as different categories of texts that college requires from students in order to receive any sort of certifications or degree. The similarities I noticed is that, author and I both believe that genre is a categories of different stuff which is presented in a different ways such as, hip-hop and jazz.
- The similar convention I noticed is that both texts are constructed in a way that talks about so many different stages of life that students have to go through to get to the graduation stage. Other thing both texts have is the emotion because both texts/speech has the long years of journey and obstacles faced by students to get to the graduation stage.
